Decision No. 635 of 2023 regarding the prohibition of importing a specific commodity

After review,

  • On the Constitutional Declaration issued on August 3, 2011, and its amendments.
  • On the Libyan Political Agreement signed on December 17, 2015.
  • On the outcomes of the Libyan Dialogue Forum held on November 9, 2020.
  • On the State Financial System Law, the Budget, Accounts, and Stores Regulations, and their amendments.
  • On Law Number 10 for the year 2010 concerning Customs.
  • On Law Number 23 for the year 2010 concerning Commercial Activity and its executive regulations and decisions issued accordingly.
  • For the necessities of the public interest.

Has decided,

Article 1

The import of all types of new and used furniture and furnishings of French origin is prohibited and is not allowed to enter through all the state's customs ports for a period of three months, extendable.

Article 2

The Customs Authority shall not release any shipments of imported furniture and furnishings from any country unless preventive measures are taken and they are confirmed to be free from insect carriers and harmful pests.

Article 3

The competent authorities must implement this decision from the date it takes effect, and it is effective from the date of its issuance.
