Legal Data Entry in English

Job Description:

We seek a detail-oriented and focused Legislation Data Entry Specialist to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in digitizing, preserving, and disseminating crucial legal texts by scanning books and gazettes, converting images to text, formatting the text per our organization's standards, and publishing these texts on the Law Society's website—proficiency in using Google Docs OCR. The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Training and coaching on the process will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  1. Scan legal books, gazettes, and other related documents in a clear and readable format.
  2. Convert scanned images to text using Google Docs OCR or similar software to ensure that all texts are accurately digitized.
  3. Format the converted text using Google Docs default formatting or as specified by the company standards, ensuring uniformity and readability across all documents.
  4. 4. Publish the correctly formatted and reviewed documents on the Law Society website, ensuring all information is correctly categorized and easily accessible for users.
  5. 5. Conduct thorough reviews of all scanned, converted, and published documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data. Identify and correct any errors in transcription, conversion, formatting, or publication.
  6. Regularly update progress reports and contribute to team meetings to keep the team apprised of any challenges or delays.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent, though an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  2. Prior experience in data entry, document scanning, or a similar role is highly desirable.
  3. Familiarity with Google Docs OCR or similar software for digitizing text.
  4. Proficiency in using Google Docs for text formatting and editing.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail and a solid commitment to accuracy.
  6. Strong computer skills, including typing speed and accuracy.

Training:

In-depth training and coaching on the scanning, digitization, formatting, and publication processes will be provided. As you adapt to your role and responsibilities, ongoing support will also be available.
