Law No. 8 of 2024 Concerning the Financial Treatment of Members of Judicial Bodies

Law No. 8 of 2024 ensures fair financial treatment for Libyan judicial members, outlining salaries, allowances, and promotions, effective July 2024.

House of Representatives,

After reviewing:

  • The provisional constitutional declaration and its amendments.
  • Law No. 10 of 2014 on the election of the House of Representatives for the transitional phase.
  • Law No. 4 of 2014 on adopting the internal system of the House of Representatives.
  • Law No. 6 of 2006 on the judicial system and its amendments.
  • Law No. 87 of 1971 on case management.
  • Law No. 88 of 1971 on administrative judiciary.
  • Law No. 6 of 1992 on law administration.
  • Cabinet Resolution No. 521 of 2013 to increase the salaries of judicial body members.
  • The conclusions of the House of Representatives in its regular meeting No. 1 of 2014, reconvened on Tuesday, 26 Rajab 1445 AH, corresponding to February 6, 2024 AD.

The following law was issued:

Article 1

The financial treatment of members of judicial bodies shall be according to the schedule attached to this law, including all prescribed allowances and benefits.

Article 2

This decision shall be effective from the date of issuance, and any provision that contradicts it is hereby repealed. It shall be published in the Official Gazette.
