Decision No. 289 of 2024 Concerning an Approval of Ruling an Exception for Citizens of the State of Palestine from Visa and Residency Fees

Decision No. 289 of 2024 exempts Palestinian citizens from visa and residency fees in Libya, effective June 24, 2024.

Council of Ministers,

Having reviewed:

  • The Constitutional Declaration issued on August 3, 2011, and its amendments.
  • The Libyan Political Agreement signed on December 17, 2015.
  • The outcomes of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum held on November 9, 2020.
  • The State Financial System Law and the Budget, Accounts, and Stores Regulations and their amendments.
  • Law No. 6 of 1987 concerning the regulation of the entry, residence, and exit of foreigners in Libya and its executive regulations.
  • The decision of the House of Representatives in its session held on March 10, 2021, in the city of Sirte, granting confidence to the National Unity Government.
  • Council of Ministers Decision No. 137 of 2024, amending certain provisions in the executive regulations of Law No. 6 of 1987 concerning the regulation of the entry, residence, and exit of foreigners in Libya.
  • The letter from the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Palestine No. 651 dated April 21, 2024.
  • The letter from the Acting Director General of the Affairs of the Council of Ministers No. 10794 dated June 23, 2024.

Decides

Article 1

Palestinian citizens are exempted from all fees related to visas and residence as specified in the executive regulations of Law No. 6 of 1987 mentioned above.

Article 2

This decision shall take effect from the date of its issuance, and the concerned authorities are tasked with its implementation.
